McCarthy’s men not interested in selling highly rated youngster.
Ipswich Town have rejected an offer from Premier League new boys Crystal Palace for full back Aaron Cresswell, Sky Sports understands.
The 23-year-old has started the season in great form, and has already found himself the subject of interest from the likes of Blackburn Rovers and Wigan Athletic this summer.
Palace were reported to have had a £3million offer rejected, but a spokesman for his agent SEM has confirmed to Sky Sports that they believe that is not the case.
“Aaron has made substantial and continued progress since signing for Ipswich Town and is possibly the best left-back in the Championship,” the spokesman said.
“Ipswich turned down substantial offers from Aston Villa last summer and they obviously rate him very highly.
“Aaron is very ambitious and of course wants to play in the Premier League.
“It would be great for him to achieve that with Ipswich Town as he is happy playing there. If not, then every player has his price and at some point he will move on.”
Cresswell began his career at Tranmere Rovers and joined the Portman Road outfit in 2011 and has gone on to make 96 appearances in total for the East Anglians.
