Arsenal flop not close to exit.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Arsenal flop Nicklas Bendtner could still have a future at the club after Arsene Wenger revealed he is not close to sealing a move away, according to Arseblog News.

The 25-year-old has not played for Arsenal since 2011, having been keen to leave the Emirates Stadium due to not being first choice for the club, though he has failed to impress potential suitors in loan spells with Sunderland and Juventus.

The Danish international joined the Gunners as a 16-year-old and broke into the first-team in 2007 as one of the club’s brightest prospects, but attitude problems have seen him fail to live up to his potential.

A host of clubs have been linked with him this summer, including newly-promoted Premier League sides Hull City and Crystal Palace, though with the close of the transfer window just days away, Wenger has now hinted that Bendtner could be set to stay at the club, and may still have a role to play for Arsenal this season.

“The chance for him to leave now is very small,” the manager revealed. “If he comes back well and gets fit, I will use him.”

This will come as something of a shock to many Arsenal fans, who not only assumed Bendtner looked certain to be leaving, but who were also expecting big-name additions upfront after the club chased the likes of Gonzalo Higuain and Luis Suarez this summer.
