Eagles to try for England Under-21 winger.

Check in to Transfer Window: Done Deal Alerts

Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway is interested in signing young Wigan winger Callum McManaman, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 22-year-old was in fine form for the Latics last season, playing a starring role in their surprise FA Cup win, though his performances could not help his club escape relegation to the Championship.

His displays saw him linked with the likes of Liverpool and Everton at points this summer, though he has so far remained at the DW Stadium, leaving Palace to feel they could swoop in for a deal late on.

McManaman previously played under Holloway in a loan spell at Blackpool, and could provide some quality for his side now as they look to survive in the Premier League.

Holloway seems to be lacking in quality in his squad, despite bringing in some big-name signings in Marouane Chamakh, Jerome Thomas and Jason Puncheon to aid his cause this summer.

Wigan will be hoping to hold on to McManaman though, as they remain ambitious to win promotion back to the Premier League this year, and they have managed to hold on to other in-demand players such as James McCarthy so far.
