Gunners defender full of praise for in-form midfielder.
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen says his in-form team-mate Aaron Ramsey is the best player in the Premier League at the moment, according to the Daily Mirror.
Ramsey has been a stand-out performer for the Gunners this year and certainly one of the most improved members of their squad, with an incredible 9 goals from midfield already in just 12 appearances in all competitions.
The Welshman added his latest strike against Norwich City in a 4-1 win on Saturday, taking on two players with superb skill in the penalty area before firing home.
Vermaelen has been out with injury so far this season, but has enjoyed the progress of Ramsey and is excited at the promise of more to come from the highly talented 22-year-old.
“Aaron is doing incredibly well,” the Belgian said. “He showed it again against us (Belgium) in midweek with his goal.
“He is the best player in the Premier League at the moment. He is scoring goals and looking really sharp with his passing.
“He’s doing extremely well. He’s been unbelievable for us.
“He got the Player of the Month award, scoring goals, playing well and showing he is important for us.
“There is more to come from him because he is young.”
Ramsey first joined Arsenal from Cardiff City in 2008, and looked a promising youngster after working his way into the club’s first-team, though a broken leg looked to have severely hindered his progress in the 2009/10 season, as he struggled to find his best form again upon returning to the side in 2011.
However, his incredible rise this season has helped Arsenal to the top of the Premier League with some impressive early-season form.
