Emirates Stadium side keen on Ajax youngster.
Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on highly rated Dutch defender Ricardo van Rhijn according to Italian source CalcioMercato.
The 22 year old Ajax right-back may well be seen as an ideal replacement for French star Bacary Sagna, who is yet to sign a new Gunners deal with his current contract set to come to an end next summer.
Van Rhijn has ably stepped in to fill the void left by former Ajax man Gregory van der Wiel and has impressed sufficiently to force himself ahead of the PSG man in Louis van Gaal’s national team set-up and could perhaps be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Ajax have struggled of late to keep hold of their top performers with the likes of Christian Eriksen and Toby Alderweireld moving to Tottenham and Atletico Madrid respectively and Amsterdam ArenA boss Frank de Boer may have his work cut out if Arsenal do indeed make a concrete offer for Van Rhijn.
If Sagna were to leave the Emirates Stadium then Arsene Wenger could opt to turn to current back-up Carl Jenkinson, who has more than proved himself capable of staking a claim to a regular first team spot in the Gunners set-up.
