Anfield side hope that loaning defender to Derby County helps in their pursuit of England Under 21 international.
Liverpool will look to win the race to sign Derby County youngster Will Hughes having agreed to loan adaptable defender Andre Wisdom to the Championship side.
The Daily Mirror believe Brendan Rodgers was open to offering Wisdom on a temporary deal with a view to such a move aiding his push to sign impressive England Under 21 midfielder Hughes, who is also being pursued by Arsenal, Man City and Man United.
Rams boss Steve McClaren will be glad to welcome in Wisdom as his Pride Park side have struggled defensively, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last nine games and having conceded 20 goals in 12 Championship fixtures thus far this season.
18 year old Derby County starlet Will Hughes has been favourably compared to Anfield star Steven Gerrard and certainly has a bright future ahead of him and a move to the Premier League seems inevitable.
Hughes has already made 56 appearances for Derby County and suits Liverpool’s youthful transfer policy though Derby County will certainly demand a hefty price for a player who is considered one of the hottest prospects in English football.
