Rossoneri finally seal Honda deal.
AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that the club will complete the double swoop for Japanese international midfielder Keisuke Honda alongside defender Adil Rami in January, Sky Sports reports.
The Serie A giants had been hot on the heels of the CSKA Moscow player since the summer, though many believed they had missed their opportunity to land his signature when they failed to bring him in before transfer deadline day, waiting instead to sign him on a free transfer when his contract expires in the new year.
This comes just a week after the club were able to put a deal in place for Valencia defender Adil Rami after he was allowed by the Spanish side to link up with Allegri’s men to train before being made available for selection when the transfer window reopens.
Allegri told Sky Sport Italia after a 3-2 defeat to Parma on Sunday which leaves Milan languishing in 10th place in Serie A, 16 points adrift of leaders Roma: “The January market? Rami and Honda will arrive.
“They are two players who will enrich our team, but if we want to climb up the table then we need to improve in the away matches and not commit the same mistakes.”
