The Old Trafford manager may well be keen to strengthen his front-line after an up and down start to the season which has seen the Premier League title holders already suffer three defeats in their opening 11 matches.

Man United may hold an interest in Chilean Sanchez with a view to using the Nou Camp forward in a wide-attacking role, much like the one that the 24 year old adopted at Udinese prior to his move to Barcelona.

David Moyes is apparently keen to bring in effective attacking options, especially those who can play in wide positions, in view of the poor form shown by Nani, Ashley Young and Luis Antonio Valencia.

Moyes has failed with previous attempts to conduct Nou Camp raids, missing out on Thiago Alcantara, who opted to join Bayern Munich, and Cesc Fabregas who chose to remain at the Catalan club.

It’s fair to say that Alexis Sanchez has taken time to win over the Barcelona faithful and the summer signing of Neymar may well have forced the forward to up his game and thus far this term the adaptable attacker has been in mesmerizing form.

Sanchez has scored seven goals in seven La Liga starts this term and scored twice in Chile’s friendly win over England earlier this week.
