The 26 year old signed a four and a half year contract that makes him the highest paid player in the Merseyside club’s history however the Uruguayan demanded that he be allowed to talk to either of the Spanish giants if they were interested in acquiring his services at the end of the season.

Suarez netted twice against Cardiff City yesterday, bringing his tally to an astonishing 19 goals in 12 Premier League fixtures, and is clearly a player who will be in high demand from any side looking to bag arguably the most in-form striker in world football.

Real Madrid have apparently already been in contact with the player’s representatives and could well be seen by Carlo Ancelotti as the ideal central striking weapon to field in a three pronged attack with Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale.

Should Liverpool fail to secure a top four finish then one imagines Suarez may well then be keen to listen to offers from either the Bernabeu or the Nou Camp.
