The in-demand France Under-21 international is currently enjoying a prolific campaign in front of goal for the high-flying Ligue 2 outfit, so much so that the likes of Premier League leaders Arsenal are also known to have been closely monitoring Ntep recently with a view to possibly signing the Cameroon-born striker later this month.

However, new Toffees head coach Roberto Martinez is understood to have sent scouts over to France of late to watch the giant 21-year-old in action first hand, before deciding whether or not to make his own move for the player at some point in January.

Ntep has been with Auxerre throughout his whole career to date, starting out with the French club’s B team, before then gaining promotion to their senior side three years ago.

And already so far in this season the forward has managed to register an impressive 14 goals and three assists in total in just 26 matches for both club and country, including an equally eye-catching six strikes and one assist in his 16 league outings for Auxerre.
