Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers will look to bring in the Egyptian international to boost his attack and has been given the green light by the club’s American owners to make an offer for the 21 year old.

Rodgers met with owners John Henry and Tom Werner to discuss a number of matters, including a push to bring in new additions to help with the club’s push for a coveted top four finish.

Liverpool have scouted Salah on a number of occasions this season, no doubt greatly impressed by what they have seen, his winning goals in both matches against Chelsea will no doubt have been a highlight.

Salah is known to be keen on securing a move to the Premier League but one wonders if a bid of this level will be enough to convince the Swiss side to sell.

FC Basel are thought to want £14m for Salah and Rodgers is also looking to bring in a defender this month.

Liverpool have been dependent on goals from Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge and with loaned in winger Victor Moses and summer signing Iago Aspas failing to make an impact there is certainly scope for a further goal-scoring option such as Salah.
