London duo keeping tabs on starlet stopper.
Arsenal and Chelsea are set to fight it out this summer for the signature of highly-rated Ajax centre-back Joel Veltman, according to reports in Inside Futbol.
The young defender has enjoyed a fine season so far and now the two London sides are set to join both Manchester sides, City and United, in their admiration of the player this summer.
The 22-year-old made his debut for the Dutch national side last year, and has been tipped to make a strong impact on the game in the coming years.
Both Manchester clubs have been watching him for a number of weeks now as they look to retool their defences ahead of next term. United are set to lose two heavyweights in Rio Ferndinand and Nemanja Vidic, whilst City have seen injuries hamper both Vincent Kompany and Martin Demichelis at different stages of the campaign.
But they will now face competition from Arsenal and Chelsea.
However, Ajax are still hopeful of being able to tie the player down to a new deal beyond 2017, when his current contract expires, and not only would that secure his future, but increase his transfer value as well.
