The 24 year old has recovered well after failing to make the grade at Real Madrid, first impressing at Getafe before moving to the Mestalla back in June 2011.

Indeed Parejo has been favourably compared to former Anfield hero Xabi Alonso and is a player who has forced his way to the fringes of a first Spanish national team cap.

Jordan Henderson has impressed for much of the current campaign though has been out of sorts in recent weeks and Welsh international Joe Allen has failed to impress since moving to Merseyside and Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers could well do with further midfield options.

Parejo was considered one of the best young footballers of his generation having won both the European Under 19 championship and UEFA European Under-21 Championship and is now returning to form at Valencia.
