The 20-year-old has been watched by Premier League big guns Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal over recent months, but it is now Atletico who are taking a strong interest.
The Welsh international has been put in the frame for a move as all of the sides mentioned are in the market for a new left-back, and though he may not be a first choice signing he is still figuring highly on their lists of potential acquisitions.
Davies first broke into the Swansea side at the start of last season and has since gone on to make over 60 appearances for the club after making his debut against West Ham United in August 2012.
Swansea are hoping to hang onto him beyond this summer, though, and have already displayed their will power in knocking a £4m bid back from Fulham for Davies’ teammate Neil Taylor.
However, with the lure of Champions League football Davies may look to move on elsewhere in order to further his career.
