Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has set his sights on 24 year old ace Reus and may feel that a cash plus Podolski offer may be one the Westfalenstadion side considers, especially if the Borussia Dortmund star pushes for a summer departure from the Bundesliga side.

Wenger has apparently turned to Reus having failed in his January push to bring in Schalke youngster Julian Draxler and given the fact that Jurgen Klopp’s side are some way off the title pace there could be a chance that the former Borussia Monchengladbach man would be interested in a fresh challenge in the Premier League.

Reus had an outstanding debut season at Borussia Dortmund last term, scoring 18 goals and providing 11 assists, though his side finished up runners-up both in the domestic league and the Champions League and having seen Mario Gotze leave for Bayern Munich and with Robert Lewandowski set to follow suit many of the club’s top performers will be considering their options.

Borussia Dortmund currently sit in third place, some 20 points off all conquering Bayern Munich.

Podolski has struggled with form and fitness this term, making just four Premier League starts all season and Wenger may feel he can afford to use the experienced attacker as a makeweight in a deal to bring in Reus.
