Arsenal Defender Confirms Desire To Leave the Emirates Stadium This Summer

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou says that he wants to turn his current loan spell with Bundesliga strugglers Hamburg into a permanent move come the end of the season, according to reports in  the Daily Express.

The Switzerland international moved to the Bundesliga side at the beginning of the campaign on a season-long loan move, with the player having since shone at the back for his new team, so much so that Djourou says he now wants to sign for the club on a full time basis.

“I know the coach, I love the club, I love the city. HSV (Hamburg) is incredible,” Djourou told German sports daily Bild.

“The club has so much potential. We have to go way up.

“The fans are great. The mood is different than in England. If all goes well and the club also want to, I would stay.”

The 27-year-old has so far featured in a total of 16 matches in all competitions for Hamburg, 14 of which have come in the Bundesliga and with a contract at the north London club that now only runs until June 30 2015, there are not expected to be any complications over thew Swiss moving to Hamburg on a permanent basis next season.
