Former Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano says that his old club are more than capable of winning the Premier League this season, according to reports in the Daily Express.

The experienced Argentina international played for three years with the Merseyside giants before deciding to join La Liga champions FC Barcelona in a deal worth 24m euros in August 2010.
However, the 29-year-old says that he has been watching many of his former’s club’s games in the Premier League this season, and thinks they can the title.
“I think they’ll finish in the top four this season. I’ve seen a lot of their games – I’m very impressed with the way they’re playing,” said the midfielder.
“Can they win the Premier League. Why not? Why not? There’s more than half the season gone and look where Liverpool are lying in the table. They are fighting for the title as well as a top four finish.
“Liverpool are a big, big club and should always be in the top four of the Premier League. The target is top four but why not the title? Why not Liverpool being crowned champions?”
