Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring in further strikers this summer, in the hope that he needs more options in order to help the Anfield side mount a Champions League challenge, with the Northern Irishman hoping to have secured a top four finish.
Though Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have been in outstanding form this term Rodgers may well look to make room for Pato by offloading loaned out Italian Fabio Borini and summer signing Iago Aspas.
Rodgers is also unlikely to look to sign Chelsea’s Victor Moses on a permanent basis after an unimpressive loan spell this term.
Pato moved back to Brazil in January 2013, moving to Corinthians before being sent to Sao Paulo for an extensive loan spell which the 24 year old can break in order to complete a move back to Europe.
Alexandre Pato enjoyed six years at AC Milan, where he netted 63 goals in 150 appearances, helping the club to a Serie A title in 2010/11.
Pato would be an excellent addition to the Liverpool front-line and a move to the Premier League may well tempt the Brazilian international.
