The north London club are understood to have been closely monitoring the Brazilian defender of late, with head coach Arsene Wenger having even sent scouts over to the Portuguese capital in recent weeks in order to run their eye over Siqueira.
Siqueira is currently spending a season-long loan with Portuguese giants Benfica after moving to Lisbon on the final hours of last summer’s transfer deadline day after just missing out on a move to Premier League side Liverpool.
The Reds had been tracking the 27-year-old themselves throughout the course of last summer, however, in the end they were unable to reach an agreement with Granada over a fee for the attacking full back, and so Siqueira joined Benfica on loan instead.
However, the Gunners are now said to be hopeful of luring the player to the Emirates for next season, although they may still face competition for Siqueira’s signature from their rivals from Merseyside, who themselves are still on the look out for a new left back.
