Emirates Stadium side look to land experienced England international to boost midfield options.
Arsenal are leading the chase to sign experienced midfielder Gareth Barry who’s Man City contract expires this summer.
The Sunday Mirror claim that Everton are also looking to bring in the 33 year old, who has impressed during his season long loan spell at Goodison Park, though Arsene Wenger is apparently the most likely to capture the England international.

Given just how many central midfield options Wenger has in his armoury one has to wonder why the Gunners boss would chase Barry though perhaps injury concerns over Jack Wilshere, Abou Diaby and recently returning Aaron Ramsey are driving his interest in the former Aston Villa man.
Barry has racked up over 650 appearances in a lengthy career but has shown this term that he is still more than capable of impressing at the highest level and may well have forced himself into Roy Hodgson’s 2014 World Cup squad.
Man City paid £12m for Barry back in June 2009 and has made 175 appearances for the club but is seemingly not part of Manuel Pellegrini’s plans for next term.
