In his first full season at the San Siro, the 23-year-old Italy international has contributed 14 goals in 28 Serie A appearances, putting him joint ninth in the scoring charts with two rounds of fixtures left to play.

However, a season of lacklustre performances this time around, coupled with a series of arguments with coach Clarence Seedorf have put his future at the club in doubt.

Reports across Europe over the past month have consistently linked him with a move away from the struggling giants, with Monaco are Arsenal both said to be very keen on brining him on board.

But any hopes of them landing the former Manchester City star have seemingly been dashed by Balotelli’s outspoken agent Mino Raiola, who has moved to dispel those rumours by claiming that Adriano Galliani has told him that the club want him to stay.

“Galliani told me that Mario is not for sale, and this makes us very happy,” Raiola said.

“From now to August 31, there will be a lot of rumours about his future, but it is not a problem.”
