The 25-yer-old has apparently been left disillusioned with life at the club under Pep Guardiola this season and has since been linked with the likes of City, Arsenal and Barcelona as the transfer window approaches.
Martinez, who joined from Athletic Bilbao in 2012, featured 18 times in this season’s title-winning side and was named in Spain’s provisional 30-man squad for the World Cup.
