La Roja full back is contracted to his club until 2018.

Liverpool head coach Brendan Rodgers has made highly rated young Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno his number one priority to fill the void on the left-hand side of the Reds’ back four next season, according to exclusive reports in the Liverpool Echo.

The Merseyside giants will definitely be buying a new left back when the summer transfer window reopens for business, with the club having to fight on two fronts next season following their qualification for the Uefa Champions League.

And even though Spaniard Jose Enrique is due back for preseason training following a long-term knee injury, Rodgers is planning on moving England Under-21 international Jon Flanagan back across from the left to the right-hand side of the defence where he is more comfortable playing.

All of which will open up a spot in the back line which the Northern Irishman wants Moreno to fill, although Rodgers also knows that he faces stiff competition for the 21-year-old’s signature from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

However, if the Merseysiders do lose out on Moreno to the Blues, the they are expected to move for either Chelsea’s Ryan Bertrand or Granada’s Guilherme Siqueira instead.
