Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has dropped a strong hint that he has now played his final ever match for the Merseyside giants, according to reports in the Independent.

The Brazil international, who also recently missed out on selection for this summer’s Fifa World Cup finals in his homeland after not being named in Selecao head coach Luiz Felipe Scolari’s 23-man squad, has just endured an injury-interrupted campaign at Anfield.
The midfielder, 27, suffered a serious knee-ligament injury after coming on as a late substitute in the 2-2 home draw with struggling Aston Villa back in January that kept the player on the sidelines until Aprtil.
However, when Reds boss Brendan Rodgers was then forced to call upon Lucas following fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson’s three-match suspension, he appeared well off the pace and is is now believed that the Northern Irishman has informed the water carrier that he can start looking for a new club when the summer transfer window reopens for business.
