Liverpool right-back Glen Johnson is unwilling to accept the Merseyside giants offer of just a one-year contract extension, according to reports in the Guardian.

The England international is now entering the final 12 months of his current deal at Anfield, with the club’s American owners the Fenway Sports Group having so far only offered Johnson a new one-year deal to keep him on Merseyside until the summer of 2016.
However, Johnson is understood to be holding out for a longer contract renewal, which is why the two parties are currently at an impasse.
However, FSG and head coach Brendan Rodgers are not set to cave in to the 29-year-old’s wishes and will instead be happy to let the versatile full back wind down the final 12 months on his current £120,000-per-week deal before then letting the player leave on a Bosman free transfer this time next year if necessary.
And that is because the Northern Irishman currently has more pressing demands to focus on, such as landing a new left back and centre back for the new campaign.
