The Gunners, who were interested in Schneiderlin in January but were priced out of deal, are ready to follow up their winter transfer window interest with a £12m bid this summer.
However, it is believed that Liverpool are ready to block their path as they are hoping to bring the 24-year-old midfielder to the club along with defensive teammate Dejan Lovren in the coming weeks.
Schneiderlin has been pinpointed as one of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s key men last season, but he recently admitted that he wants to be playing Champions League football in the near future.
“For my progress and my visibility, it would be better to play for a club who play in the Champions League,” he said.
“I know there is a lot of speculation, but I still have three years on my contract, it does not depend on me.
“We’ll see in the coming weeks.”
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to open talks with Lovren, after already displaying an interest in England winger Adam Lallana.
