Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is set to be handed a massive £100 million transfer fund this summer to add more venom to his squad. Arsenal are short of quality in a few key areas and the Daily Mail reports that their manager has lined up moves for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, QPR forward Loic Remy and long term Bundesliga target Lars Bender.

After having recently signed a new contract until 2017 with the club, Wenger has hinted at a big summer for Arsenal fans, in which one can expect the Gunners to make significant squad improvements.

The Frenchman also sounded optimistic about landing his desired targets as he suggested that a number of players want to join the club this summer.

Although he did not divulge too many details, Wenger said, “We know we have to have a successful June and July, that’s where you strengthen the team.

“It’s very important that we are good now in the next two months until the end of August, that we can give to the team some more quality and go into next season with the belief we got from [the FA Cup] win.

Should the fans expect a big summer? Yes, they should expect that.

“What I can promise is that we work very hard in a market that is very, very congested with many people who have a lot of money.

But we have a big advantage, players want to join us and if we find the right quality I’m sure we can strengthen the team.”

Arsenal have been linked with a number of players, but Arsene Wenger has always been one who likes to surprise the fans when it comes to transfer dealings, which will no doubt keep the media guessing right through the summer.
