Southampton look set to lose as many as nine players this summer after the exit of Argentine boss Mauricio Pochettino according to the Daily Mirror.

The south-coast side secure an excellent top half finish last term but are now set to see a huge portion of that successful squad as a number of interested parties make their interest in prospective targets known.

Liverpool are set to sign veteran striker Rickie Lambert with Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren also linked with a move to the Merseyside club.

Man United have apparently agreed ‘in principle’ to sign left-back Luke Shaw for a fee that could near £30m whilst

Pochettino is looking to bring in Jay Rodriquez and James Ward-Prowse to White Hart Lane and is also considering a bid for right-back Nathaniel Clyne.

Arsenal have made their interest in Morgan Schneiderlin and Callum Chambers known.

Southampton are keen to cover big debts by offloading a few of their top performers but must balance that need with the long term future of the club as clearly losing the nucleus of their squad could well lead to the club fighting at the wrong end of the Premier League table next term.
