News outlets in Russia are now going into overdrive after NBC reporter Michael Stafford broke the story on Twitter on Thursday, claiming that the Russians had rejected an initial approach for the striker before caving and accepting the Gunners second offer.

Stafford even claims that the move will be completed before the World Cup stars as he will undergo a medical at the Brazil camp over the weekend.
However, despite the two clubs agreeing a fee the player’s wages are thought to be a stumbling block and if there is any delay in the deal it will be because personal terms have yet to be agreed.
IF Arsene Wenger can pull the deal off, though, it will represent a massive statement of intent for the club who will be looking to build on last season’s FA Cup success by making a lasting assault on the Premier League and Europe.
