Defensive ace wants manager to make additions this summer.
Arsenal centre-back Laurent Koscielny has called on his manager Arsene Wenger to sign at least 4 new players this summer to get the team to compete with the top sides throughout the season.
The Frenchman was quoted saying recently in the Daily Express, “We’ll need a goalkeeper, a right back, a midfielder and a striker. It’s important to have a minimum of these four players so that we’ll be better able to challenge over the course of a whole season against teams like Manchester City, Chelsea or [Manchester] United. Winning the FA Cup can change things and lead to other players coming.”
Koscielny was a vital part of Arsenal’s last campaign, having helped them finish in the top four and win the FA Cup, and he is now looking forward to a new era of success at the club under Wenger.
The 28-year old centre-half also emphasized the importance of the club buying a world class striker to supplement his compatriot Olivier Giroud up front next season, and believes that the addition of a prolific 20 goal striker could help them bridge the gap with the top 2 sides in the league.
Koscielny has recently signed a new long term deal with the Gunners, and also finished 3rd in the club’s poll for Player of the Season, voted by the fans of the team across the world.
