Queens Park Rangers striker Loic Remy is hoping to sign for Arsenal above Liverpool and all other interested clubs this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Frenchman, who spent the 2012/13 season on loan from QPR at Newcastle United, has long been linked as a target for the Gunners, and may now have done enough to convince Arsene Wenger that he could do a job for his side upfront, with some prolific form in the Premier League since he moved to Loftus Road last January.

Remy has managed 20 goals in 40 league appearances in the English top flight, and looks like having that lethal finishing touch in front of goal that Arsenal have somewhat lacked since the sale of Robin van Persie two summers ago.

Olivier Giroud performed fairly well for Wenger’s side this season, but it is thought that a new signing in attack remains a priority for the north London club due to a lack of depth in that department.

With an asking price believed to be around £10m, Remy may be one of the best-value options on the market at the moment, and his desire to move to the Emirates Stadium will be a welcome boost for Arsenal if they do choose to pursue this transfer further.
