AC Milan Chief Confident Mario Balotelli Won’t Be Leaving For Arsenal

AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has said that he believes Mario Balotelli will still be at the club when the new season kicks off and will spurn a move to Arsenal in the process, according to Sky Sports.

The Rossoneri are hoping to undergo a massive rebuilding project over the summer after a disappointing domestic campaign saw them fail to qualify for European football for the first time in 16 years.

With a number of players tipped to be moved on the club will reinvest the money earned from the sales of their stars to reverse their fortunes.

And one such star believed to be moving on is the mercurial Mario Balotelli, who’s love affair with his boyhood club has seemingly turned flat.

The former Manchester City star has been linked with a return to the Premier League with Arsenal, who are desperate to add some firepower to their front line after becoming overly reliant on Olivier Giroud.

But Berlusconi believes there is a future at the club for Balotelli, who only joined Milan in January last year and still has three-and-a-half years left on his contract.

Berlusconi told reporters: “AC Milan must return to have a lead role in Italy, in Europe and in the world.

“Balotelli? I believe that he will stay and will be part of the new team.”
