Liverpool look set to complete the £16.2m deal to bring exciting young Spanish left-back Alberto Moreno to Anfield, reports the Daily Mail.
The 21-years-old defender is flying to Merseyside to finalise a deal after the Premier League club agreed a fee with the La Liga club for the services of one of their prized assets.
£16.2m fee seems expensive for a player who’s only had one full season in top-flight professional football, but Moreno did enough with Sevilla last term to earn himself his first international caps under Vicente del Bosque, although he narrowly missed out on selection for the World Cup squad this summer.
The imminent signing will appease Liverpool fans crying out for left-backs after the problems in the position last season. Jon Flanagan ended up playing their mostly, but the young Englishman is much more comfortable on the right of the back four.
Jose Enrique is also on the books, but injuries are curtailing his Anfield career, while loanee Frenchman Aly Cissokho did nothing last season to encourage the Reds to make his deal permanent.
The Reds have already signed England forward Rickie Lambert this summer, and young German midfielder Emre Can.
