Marseille star looks Valencia-bound.
Valencia look to be winning the chase for Marseille playmaker and Premier League target Mathieu Valbuena, according to Spanish publication Marca.
The French international has been one of the best players in Ligue 1 for a number of years now, and has long been linked with moves to bigger clubs, with Arsenal and Liverpool believed to be his main suitors from England this summer.
However, Valbuena is now reported to be holding talks with Valencia over becoming what could be one of many big-name signings at the Mestalla in this transfer window after a recent takeover by wealthy Singapore businessman Peter Lim.
In-demand Porto striker Jackson Martinez is another high-profile name who could be making his way to the club in the near future, and Valbuena would represent another major coup for Los Che, who have endured some difficult times in recent years with financial problems and the forced sales of numerous star players.
Both Arsenal and Liverpool could now turn their attention to another French midfield star, with Real Sociedad winger Antoine Griezmann supposedly a target for both clubs after his terrific form in La Liga this season, while Barcelona pair Alexis Sanchez and Pedro Rodriguez have also been mentioned as possible targets.
