Liverpool Flop In Transfer Market Yet Again As Talks For Key Target Break Down, Which Will Infuriate Fans

The deal to bring Alberto Moreno to Anfield has hit complications…

Liverpool fans will no doubt be fuming this morning after hearing the news that the club might fail to land yet another key transfer target…

A summer move for Sevilla’s Spanish international left-back Alberto Moreno appears to have broken down – with the Anfield club refusing to meet the £18m valuation for the 21-year-old, the Mirror reports.

Liverpool has made Moreno their key target to fix the problem position, but now might have to turn their attentions elsewhere if they’re flatly refusing to meet the player’s valuation.

Last January, they couldn’t conclude deals for Dnipro winger Yevhen Konoplyanka and Egyptian flyer Mohamed Salah, the latter of whom joined rivals Chelsea instead. This especially irritated Reds’ supporters as the summer beforehand Liverpool had failed to bring in Willian, who like Salah, moved to Chelsea instead, and Diego Costa (set to join Chelsea shortly) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan – who moved to Borussia Dortmund instead.

Brendan Rodgers’ side did enjoy an excellent season regardless, narrowly missing out on Premier League title glory, but the consistent failings in the transfer market will drain some of the positivity performances last term created.

Moreno established a name for himself last term as one of the most promising young fullbacks in Europe, winning his first caps for Spain as a result.
