Possible new away shirt for Gunners.
After images of Arsenal’s new home kit were leaked yesterday, more pictures have emerged today of what could be the Gunners’ away shirt for the 2014/15 season.
A traditional yellow and blue design should please the club’s fans, with unorthodox blue, purple and redcurrant efforts in recent years not going down well with a number of supporters.
This latest design will certainly evoke some great memories for the north London giants, as it closely resembles the famous away shirt of 1988/89, in which Arsenal won one of the most famous titles of their history with a dramatic last-day victory over Liverpool at Anfield, with Michael Thomas’ goal sealing the title in the dying seconds of the game.
The Gunners brought back this design fairly recently in 2008/09 as well under previous shirt sponsors Nike, and Puma have gone for a similar approach as they start their deal with the Emirates Stadium club this season.
