Red Devils look to beat Premier League rivals to Chilean star.
Manchester United are reportedly putting together a bid to beat rivals Arsenal to the signature of Barcelona forward Alexis Sanchez, according to the Metro.
The Chilean World Cup star is being tracked by both Arsenal and Liverpool as his future looks destined to lie away from the Nou Camp this summer.
And United boss Louis van Gaal is said to be a big admirer of the Chilean and could be ready to step in with an offer.
Liverpool were hoping to strike a deal for his services as part of the move to take Luis Suarez in the opposite direction to Catalonia, but the 25-year-old has been apparently keen to link up with Arsenal instead.
The Gunners are you to make a move in the transfer market this summer, but Arsene Wenger is said to be confident of landing Sanchez over the coming week.
However, new United boss Louis Van Gaal may yet attempt to convince Sanchez a switch to Old Trafford is a better option for his future.
Van Gaal has already moved early to bring Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera to the club in a bid to restore the club back at the top of the ladder in the Premier League.
And with Van Gaal reportedly ready to give Fellaini the chop, he may decide to move for Sanchez to continue revamping his midfield.
