The 28 year old is expected to replace Bacary Sagna as the Gunners first choice right-back with the fee said to be in the region of £10m.
Such a move may leave young England man Carl Jenkinson considering his options though he may be happy to challenge Debuchy for playing time.
Newcastle United signed Debuchy in January 2013 and he speedily adapted to life in the Premier League and has pipped Sagna to the starting spot in Didier Deshamps’ French national team set-up.
Prior to his move to St James’ Park Debuchy enjoyed ten seasons in the Lille first team set-up and has over 340 top tier appearances to his name and is likely to fill the Gunners role well.
Debuchy would represent Arsenal’s second high-profile signing of the summer following the arrival of Chilean Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
