Having made his long-awaited return for Arsenal at the tail end of the previous Premier League campaign after a year out through injury, Diaby has picked up a hip injury, and is set to miss the Community Shield.
The French site claim that Diaby had complained of feeling pain in his back during the defeat to New York Red Bulls last weekend, and that pain has since developed into an inflamed tendon on his left hip.
The news will come as a devastating blow to the player, who has endured some rotten luck during his time with the Gunners, and had been hoping to get a decent pre-season under his belt ahead of the new campaign, which kicks off next week.
Manager Arsene Wenger will be disappointed too, as he had been banking on the Frenchman staying fit and saving him from making an expensive dip into the transfer market for a new defensive midfielder.
