Midfielder could be available for just £5m.Arsenal and Chelsea are on alert after Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot rejected the club’s latest offer of a new contract, according to the Daily Express.
The Gunners and the Blues have both been in the market for new signings in midfield this summer, with Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira also emerging as a target for both clubs in recent months.
They now look set to compete with each other for Rabiot ahead of the new season, with the 19-year-old likely to be available for as little as £5m as he enters the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes.
Despite being widely regarded as one of the best up-and-coming talents in French football at the moment, Rabiot has struggled to break past the vast competition for places in this current PSG side, which has spent huge amounts on bringing in some of the best players in the world.
Still, Rabiot looks like having plenty of suitors from other top clubs around Europe, with Juventus also believed to be among his admirers as his situation with PSG looks increasingly uncertain.
Arsene Wenger will hope that his record with young players will sway Rabiot’s decision, but this will be an intriguing transfer battle in the coming weeks.
