Emirates Stadium boss Arsene Wenger has apparently been pursuing the 19 year old midfielder for some time and the north London club’s opening bid of £5.5m has been accepted according to this source.

The French Under 21 international has turned down advances from PSG, with the Ligue 1 side having been keen to tie the youngster down to a new contract, but with a year to run on his current deal the Parc des Princes side may look to cash-in on his services.

Rabiot made 27 appearances in all competitions last term and is rangy midfielder who is tough in the tackle and could be a very wise addition to the Gunners squad.

With Mikel Arteta clearly in the latter stages of his career and Mathieu Flamini not seen as much more than able support Wenger would do well to bring in Rabiot, who is rightly considered one of the hottest prospects in European football.

Though PSG have supposedly accepted Arsenal’s bid there is also said to be interest in Rabiot from Serie A sides AS Roma and Juventus.
