Arsenal are looking at tying up a move for Paris Saint-Germain youngster Adrien Rabiot after appearing to miss out on Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira, according to the Daily Express.
The German international had been one of the Gunners’ main transfer targets for much of the summer as it looked like he was ready to leave the Bernabeu on a cut-price deal, though it now looks as though he has made a u-turn on his future and is set to reject offers from elsewhere to stay with the Spanish giants.
Arsenal are still in need of a new signing in midfield after losing club captain Mikel Arteta to injury for at least two weeks, and Arsene Wenger will now line up a raid on his native France with a move for Rabiot.
The 19-year-old is a highly regarded talent at PSG, though he has recently been linked with a move away from the club due to a struggle to break into their star-studded starting lineup on a regular basis.
The Frenchman may find first-team opportunities easier to come by at the Emirates Stadium, and it could be that his move to north London would make a great deal of sense for both parties in terms of their respective needs for the new season.
