Arsene Wenger claims German will stay with the Gunners…
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed during Tuesday lunchtime’s press conference that German forward Lukas Podolski will not be leaving the club this summer, amidst rumours that his future would lie elsewhere.
“Podolski is in the squad tomorrow and will stay with us,” Wenger said, indicating that the World Cup winner may play a part in Arsenal’s crucial Champions League qualifier with Besiktas as well on Wednesday evening.

Speculation was rife that either Juventus, Napoli, Galatasaray or Wolfsburg would sign the forward, who has dropped down the pecking order since Arsenal splashed out £35m to sign Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona.
However, with Olivier Giroud picking up an injury that will potentially keep him out for three months, it seems that that the 29-year-old will stay in north London for the 2014/15 campaign.
Podolski prides himself on his powerful left foot shot, and his ability to cut in from that flank and score goals. His lack of pace and inability to perform as a centre-forward though mean his opportunities this term could still be limited.
