The 19 year old midfielder’s agent is in London to finalise the deal following the Premier League side’s readiness to launch an improved for the French Under 21 international.
The Gunners have offered £11.9m for Rabiot, a fee that comes close to the Ligue 1 champion’s asking price and Rabiot’s decision to refuse to train may speed through a deal to move to the Emirates Stadium.
Rabiot made 27 appearances for PSG in all competitions last term but has struggled for a regular run out at the Parc des Princes and could offer Wenger a fresh central midfield option and could be seen as a long term replacement for veteran skipper Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal have brought in four high-profile signings thus far this summer with Wenger securing the captures of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers from Barcelona, Newcastle United, Nice and Southampton respectively.
Wenger’s side edged past Besiktas on Wednesday night to earn a berth in the Champions League group stage which could certainly act as further motivation for any prospective target on the Arsenal radar.
