Stromsgodset starlet Martin Odegaard has been attracting lots of interest and Manchester United have stepped up their own after the midfielder became Norway’s youngest ever player, reports the Telegraph.

Odegaard played for the nation against UAE aged just 15-years and 253 days, breaking the record that had been held by Tormod Kjellsen since 1910.

The teenager is a boyhood Liverpool fan and is often seen tweeting about the Merseysiders, but it is not the Reds that are leading the chase for him as the Red Devils are joined by FC Barcelona and Juventus in the hunt.

English fans are set to get a first-hand glimpse of Odegaard on Wednesday when the starlet is expected to lineup against Roy Hodgson’s side in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium.

There is a lot of hype surrounding the young player currently and United have also taken a closer look at the Norwegian when they took him on trial in December 2013.

There has been a mixed success of stars from Norway at Old Trafford, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer the standout, whilst attempts to land John Obi Mikel from FC Lyn in 2005 were very publicly thwarted by Chelsea.
