Midfield ace looks to recover from Dortmund knock.
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere is confident that he can shake off the ankle injury he picked up during the side’s 2-0 defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League this week, the Metro reports.
Paul Merson Arsenal – Former star slams Gunners
Danny Welbeck – Wenger frustrated in striker’s finishing
Mesut Ozil Borussia Dortmund – Playmaker slammed for lazy Champions League performance.
The England international twisted his right ankle against the Bundesliga giants, but was forced to finish the game as Arsenal had used up all of their substitutes.
Arsene Wenger expressed his concern over the player’s fitness as the 22-year-old has previously had a number of injury problems regarding the same ankle.
But reports have suggested that Wilshere is confident that the injury is not as serious as first thought and should be back sooner the first thought – though he will likely be missing for the weekend clash with Aston Villa.
That news will come as a welcome relief for Arsene Wenger, though, who has seen his side ravaged by injuries over the past ten days, with Mathieu Debuchy and Nacho Monreal both being ruled out of the clash with Dortmund.
