Draxler is one of the most exciting young players in world football and he has attracted the interest of Manchester United, Chelsea and Real Madrid during the past couple of years.

The Gunners did have an opportunity to buy the 21-year-old last January but Arsene Wenger refused to pay the youngster’s £37 million buy-out fee.

However, the Frenchman has now had a change of heart after seeing his side struggle against top quality opponents like Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund this season and will look to add world class talent to his ranks at the beginning of 2015.

Arsenal scouts went to watch Draxler during Schalke’s Champions League match against Chelsea and with the Bundesliga star recently admitting that he would be open to a move to the Emirates, it appears that both the player and the FA Cup winners want a transfer to happen.

However, Schalke are adamant that their star player will remain at Gelsenkirchen for the rest of the season at least so Wenger will need to pay all of the attacking midfielder’s huge buy-out fee in order to land the World Cup winner in January.
