Emirates Stadium side chase impressive French youngster.
Arsenal are keeping tabs on Marseille star Florian Thauvin ahead of a possible January move for the 21-year-old according to the Metro.
The attacking midfielder is considered one of the hottest prospects in European football and enjoyed a superb first season at Marseille following his move to the south of France club from Bastia.
Thauvin has played a key role in his side’s excellent start to the campaign and it’s unlikely new boss Marcelo Bielsa would consider offers for the French Under 21 international and with Marseille sitting top of Ligue 1 it’s seems unlikely that the youngster would push for a January exit.
One would also wonder why Arsenal would need to sign a player such as Thavin given their plethora of creative attacking talents, indeed Wenger may be better placed using funds or bring in a strong defensive midfielder to provide some much needed steel to complement the flair players in his squad.
