Gunners plot January fire-sale in major squad overhaul.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is ready to make some big decisions this January as he picks ten first-team players who aren’t good enough for the club and who need to be axed.
The Gunners have endured a difficult start to the season and will need to raise funds to bring in the players needed for January, with Wenger having already spent significant funds during the summer.
Big names such as Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck moved to the Emirates Stadium, but the club are now keen to bring in more big names such as Sami Khedira, Mats Hummels and Julian Draxler to improve their fortunes, though these won’t come cheap.
It is understood that many of the following ten players could be offloaded if offers come in for them:
10) Mesut Ozil
A target for Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, Mesut Ozil’s time at Arsenal may be up after some continued poor form, and he could bring in around £35m in transfer funds from his exit.
