The 26 year old has struggled for form since his £42.5m move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2013 and has been heavily linked with a £32m move to Premier League title holders Man City for some weeks now.

Arsene Wenger is said to want to keep hold of Ozil, confident that the former Real Madrid man will show Gunners fans just what he is capable of, however the playmaker want to secure a move to Man City and wants to ‘quickly’ agree terms with the Etihad Stadium side.

Though Arsenal have clearly sold a number of players to Man City the sale of the club’s record signing would surely be a bridge too far for the north London side, not least as such a sale would see Arsenal lose £10m.

Wenger will have hoped Ozil would return from his World Cup winning exploits and show a marked improvement on his average first campaign but this hasn’t proven the case.

Ozil has racked up one assist and zero goals in six Premier League starts this term and is currently sidelined with a knee injury that will see him out until the new year.

The likes of Kolo Toure, Emmanuel Adebayor, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri and Bacary Sagna have previously made the move from Arsenal to Man City
